Guest posting opportunities on ChordSongs

Would you like to contribute to our blog? If you have experience, knowledge or an interesting perspective on playing music, learning an instrument or the songs people love to play, we would love to hear your ideas.

We accept articles from freelance writers, bloggers, music teachers and working musicians – as well as from SEO writers, content writers and agencies writing on behalf of clients. Whether it is a practical guide, an in-depth analysis or a post based on your own experience, send us your article.

What can you write about?

We are interested in articles about:

  • Guitar and other instruments – chords, strumming patterns, technique, ukulele, bass, piano and keyboard.
  • Music theory – chord progressions, keys, scales, the circle of fifths and ear training, explained simply.
  • Songs and artists – how to play popular songs, song breakdowns, genres and music history.
  • Learning and practice – practice routines, beginner tips, lessons, apps and staying motivated.
  • Gear and equipment – instruments, amps, pedals, capos, strings, tuners and recording gear.
  • Songwriting and performance – writing songs, recording at home, playing live and the music business.

Take a look at our latest articles before you submit. We especially value posts that answer readers’ questions, explain a topic clearly or add new knowledge to something we have already covered – for example our guides to the circle of fifths, the guitar capo and chord progressions. If you have another relevant topic in mind, feel free to suggest it.

Guest post guidelines

To make it easier for us to review your post, please follow these guidelines:

  • Relevant to our niche – the content must be relevant to our topics and our readers’ interests.
  • Informative, with real value – the article must be informative and give readers real value.
  • Original content – send your own work that has not been published anywhere else.
  • Reliable sources – back up statistics, research findings and factual claims with relevant sources.
  • Minimum length – articles should be at least 800 words. In-depth guides usually work best at 1,200+ words.
  • Clear language – use a logical structure, descriptive headings and short paragraphs.
  • Image rights – if you include images, you must have permission to use them and state any credit required.

All posts are reviewed before publication. We may suggest changes or edit accepted articles for clarity, accuracy and readability. Submitting an article is no guarantee of publication. We usually reply within 5 business days.

Links and placement

All accepted articles are published with these link terms:

  • Dofollow links – links in the article are dofollow backlinks.
  • No sponsored tag – the article and its links are not marked as sponsored.
  • Permanent placement – the article stays on ChordSongs permanently.
  • 1 client link – one link to your client, placed naturally in the text and not in a promotional way.
  • 2 authority links – two links to authoritative sources, or one internal link to ChordSongs and one authority link.

If you represent a company, an agency or a client as part of your link building, please say so in your email – we will get back to you with the details and terms that apply to your post.

What we do not publish

  • Content written to place a link rather than to be read.
  • Texts that have been published elsewhere, in full or in part.
  • Claims about results, products or facts that cannot be documented.
  • Content that promises financial gain, or adult-oriented offers aimed at people under 18.
  • Purely AI-generated text that has not been fact-checked by a person.

Editorial control and unpublishing

Publication is not guaranteed. Receiving a pitch or an article does not imply any promise to publish it. Our editors assess every post and every link individually. We may unpublish or correct material afterwards if information turns out to be wrong, misleading or in breach of these guidelines or applicable law.

Commercial contributions

If a contribution is sponsored, commissioned by a third party or otherwise paid for – in money, goods or services – this must be stated in your pitch. Such material is only published if it is genuinely relevant to our readers, and on terms we agree in writing. Undisclosed commercial content is not published, and if discovered later, it is removed.

Rights

You keep the copyright to your text. By submitting it, you grant ChordSongs a non-exclusive, perpetual right to publish the article on chordsongs.io, to edit it for language and structure, and to use excerpts on our own channels. You confirm that you hold the rights to the text and any images, and that the content does not infringe the rights of third parties. If you later want to publish the text elsewhere, contact us and we will find a solution.
