About ChordSongs

ChordSongs is a free resource for guitar players, ukulele enthusiasts, pianists, and musicians of all levels. Our mission is simple: help you find songs you can play right now with the chords you already know.

What We Do

We organize thousands of popular songs by the chords they use, their difficulty level, and the instrument you play. Whether you just learned your first three chords or you are an advanced player looking for new material, ChordSongs helps you discover music that matches your skill level.

How It Works

Every song on ChordSongs includes interactive chord diagrams that show you exactly where to place your fingers. You can tap any chord to hear how it sounds, browse songs by genre or difficulty, and find new songs that use chords you already know.

Our Goal

We believe that playing music should be accessible to everyone. You do not need years of lessons to enjoy playing your favorite songs. With the right songs and the right chords, you can start making music today.

Our Editorial Process

Every song in our catalog is reviewed and tagged by hand — not scraped automatically. Our editors rate each song on the three things that actually decide how hard it is to play:

  • Chord count — how many chords the song really uses.
  • Chord type — whether it needs tricky barre chords (like Bm or F) or stays on beginner-friendly open chords.
  • Rhythm demand — whether a simple down-strum works, or the song needs a specific strumming or fingerpicking pattern.

That’s why our difficulty ratings are more honest than a raw chord count: a “three-chord” song with a barre chord isn’t a true beginner song, and we say so.

Who Writes ChordSongs

Our guides and song breakdowns are written by the ChordSongs editorial team — players who curate every list from our own catalog of 1,600+ songs. When we call a song “easy,” it’s because we’ve tagged it against the same criteria across the entire library, not because it made a good headline.

Why Trust ChordSongs

  • 1,600+ songs, each with interactive chord diagrams you can tap to hear.
  • Hand-tagged difficulty — never auto-generated.
  • Honest guidance: we flag the songs that look easy but aren’t.
